Background

As an accolade to a fine scholar and loving teacher, the "Edward K Y Chen Distinguished Lecture Series" was initiated by a group of former HKU students of Professor Chen in early 70s.

A fund was set up to establish the Lecture Series at HKU in his honour.

Not only does this Lecture Series represent a tribute to an honoured teacher, it also aspires to demonstrate the fine traditions of great respect and appreciation for Teachers and Mentors ("尊師重道") to generations to come.

The Lecture Series will be held annually at HKU, presented by the School of Economics and Finance.
