71 Alumni Networks After three short months of weekend rehearsals, the newborn 60-members HKUAA Choir delivered its inaugural performances at the club premises on June 15 and 22. Lucy Cheung 張翠屏 (BA 1976; MPhil 1987), the choir's convenor began with a brief "overture" speech followed by Dr Michael Ryan (AdvDipEd 1984; MEd 1985), the choir's charismatic and versatile music director and conductor, who introduced the opening English-language songs In These Delightful Pleasant Groves composed by Henry Purcell, April is in My Mistress’ Face by Thomas Morley, Concord (from Gloriana) by Benjamin Britten and Home is a Special Kind of Feeling by John Rutter. The HKUAA Choir has successfully enhanced the interest and appreciation of choral-singing; created a sense of camaraderie amongst members; and above all cultivated the sense of belonging among alumni to our alma mater . HKUAA is committed to providing more singing and music-appreciation opportunities in future for the bene t of alumni and the community. Summer Delights presented by the HKUAA Choir  The media industry has long been a respectable, challenging but highly rewarding industry for those who are passionate about journalism and eager to explore stories that are worth knowing.
