Alumni Networks HKU Alumni Network of New England, USA There are six Northeast states in the United States: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. The New England region has a rich history dating back to the early English settlements in North America in the 17th century. Most of our alumni are in the Greater Boston Area in Massachusetts, and are in diverse professions such as nance, law, medicine, higher education, and research. We also have alumni members from NewYork and Pennsylvania joining our activities. Since 2004, Professor Siu Wong Sau-fong 蕭黃秀芳 (BA 1964; DipSocSt 1965) has served as the visionary leader of our network, helping to reunite HKU alumni and grow our network to about 80 members today. Last year, Professor Siu decided to step down, and I have since taken up the position of convenor. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor Siu for helping me in Boston since I came here for graduate school in 2006, and for her great leadership in fostering friendships among HKU alumni! Eric Ho 何迪帆 (BSocSc 1981; MSocSc 1985) There will be a Joint Universities Alumni Associations badminton tournament in late September in Toronto, I am very proud to be part of the HKU team and let's cheer for our badminton team in the up-coming tournament.
