CharityGalaPremiere In support of the First-in-the-Family Education Fund 第一代大學生助學金 The documentary was directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Ruby Yang 楊紫燁 , the HKU Hung Leung Hau Ling Distinguished Fellow in Humanities (香港大學「孔梁巧玲傑出人文學者」) . It was edited at the production suites of our Journalism and Media Studies Centre from 500 hours of raw footage by Ruby and her crew, which included many HKU student interns. Over 1,400 guests and 110 patrons supported the Gala in October 2014, raising HK$900,000 to benefit the “First-in-the-Family Education Fund”, which supports equal learning opportunities for grass-roots students.
