120th ANNIVERSARY HAKING MADE – Hong Kong Entrepreneur: Haking Wong Exhibition
「克服競爭、光學大王」黃克競博士 120 週年誕辰紀念展覧

Now until 28 Feb | Main Library, HKU | Plan Your Visit

Renowned industrialist and philanthropist Dr Haking Wong, also known as the King of Optics, dedicated his life to advancing industry and education in Hong Kong. In 1983, he funded the Haking Wong Building at HKU’s Department of Engineering, making it one of the university’s earliest donor-named buildings.

This exhibition features the private collections, including over 40 classic Halina cameras, along with valuable documents, records, and manuscripts — many of which are displayed publicly for the first time. It showcases Dr Haking Wong’s outstanding achievements in the optics and camera industries and celebrates the glorious history of Hong Kong’s golden industrial era.
